PumpXP carried out the design of the support system for a pump and motor, evaluating the support structure through FE analysis for the motion loads at high seas prior to manufacturing & deployment.
Pump support system design & FE analysis:
PumpXP carried out the structural design of the base mounting frame for the pump along with the motor support frame with suitable cross members & support stiffeners to withstand the motion loads, self-weight & pumping forces with nozzle loads.

Motion Load Assessment
The assessment of the motion loads was based on the database and accelerations loads were considered at Hull for surge, sway, heave directional accelerations & roll, pitch, yaw angular accelerations. The criteria for stress assessment are as per API 610 Standard, clause 5.3.4.

Conclusion: After subjecting the support system components to FE analysis the results demonstrated the stresses and the displacements were within the allowable limits for the material and had sufficient safety factor to allow any over load conditions.
